At LJMU, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access higher education and outreach events aim to inspire students and support them in making informed decisions about their future.
We offer a range of engaging activities designed to inspire students when it comes to their university options. These include subject taster sessions, campus visits and free residentials. These interactions provide hands-on experiences to help students make the right choice for them.

As well as attending school and college events, LJMU will be represented at higher education exhibitions across the country over the coming months.
These events organised by UCAS and UK University Search provide an opportunity to ask questions to staff about all that LJMU and studying in Liverpool has to offer.

Our taster days offer sixth form and FE college students the opportunity to learn more about their subject of interest, view our fantastic facilities and engage with academic staff and current students.

Environmental Health Workshops available to students in Year 7 onwards

Interactive sessions are based around personal statement support for sixth form students, practising psychometric testing questions we use in our selection process, interview tips and practise at our clinical simulation suites.

Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Science Degree Taster Day
Wednesday 15 and Wednesday 22 April
10am to 2.30pm
Join us on our Byrom Street Campus on April 15 and April 22 between 10am to 2.30pm to experience the exciting science of our Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Science degree programme.
During the visit you will get to meet the diverse programme team who will help you understand how drugs and cosmetic products are designed, formulated, and manufactured. You will get to meet a range of diverse scientists working in this dynamic field who undertake teaching and research at Liverpool John Moores University.
During the visit you will experience several hands-on sessions focussing on key topics. Examples being drug design, analytical techniques for ensuring drug and cosmetics ingredients are safe and effective, and the scientific methods that enable drugs to be formulated as different delivery systems (for example, drugs formulated as tablets, or skin formulations like ointments), and cosmetic components designed into appropriate product (for example, gels).
Finally, you will also get to meet our current students, ask them questions about the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Science programme, including the opportunity to spend a year in industry as part of your studies with us.

Product Design Engineering show

Come along and meet staff and students from the Product Design Engineering Course. Find out about uni life, the course, placements and career opportunities. School groups and individual students are welcome, but booking is required.
Student visit invitation
In conjunction with the Product Design Engineering Show, we are delighted to invite school and college students to visit Liverpool John Moores University. This visit is a great chance to experience university life and learn what Product Design Engineering is all about. Throughout the day, you can explore a variety of student projects and final-year work that show creativity, technical ability, and innovative problem-solving. The displays include practical design solutions, prototypes, and development work that demonstrate how ideas grow from early concepts to finished products. Staff and current students will be available to talk about:
- the structure and content of the course
- entry requirements and application guidance
- facilities and workshops
- placement opportunities, industry links and career pathways
- what it is like to study and live as a university student
The visit is relaxed and informative, giving students plenty of time to ask questions, explore the exhibition, and get a clear idea of university life and future career options.
