The plan is the first part of a four-phase approach and establishes LJMU’s goals and priorities for the next 10 years:

  • Solar panels
  • Wildflower gardens
  • LJMU launched UK’s first BSc (Hons) Climate Change degree programme
  • Help educating children in local schools about the importance of environmental responsibility
  • Key partner in Liverpool City Region’s sustainability strategy
  • Larger investment into delivering sustainability projects into curriculum
  • Developing students' employment skills for climate change, carbon management and sustainability awareness
  • Development of new policies aimed at decarbonisation, recycling 70% of our waste, increase in number of plant-based items on catering menus
