Entry Requirements
The following requirements are a guide only and can differ depending on your course of study and your own personal experience.
Undergraduate
Qualification
Ylioppilastutkintotodistus/ Studentexamensbetyg (Matriculation examination) is considered comparable to the overall GCE Advanced (A) level / Scottish Advanced Higher standard.
Grading
The grading system used for the matriculation examination is shown with Latin descriptors. The meanings are as follows: 2 = Pass, 3 = Satisfactory, 4 = Good, 5 = Very good, 6 Exceptionally good, 7 Excellent (Laudatur)
IELTS required. If students achieve 6 (E) in English language, this is equivalent to IELTS 6.0
96 UCAS points 3 (B) Lubenter approbator
104 UCAS points 4 (C) Cum laude approbatur
112 UCAS points 4 (C) Cum laude approbator
120 UCAS points 5 (M) Magna cum laude approbator
128 UCAS points 6 (E) Eximia cum laude approbator
Postgraduate
Qualification
Kandidaattii/Kandidat awarded pre-1993 or post 2007 is considered comparable to British Bachelor (Honours) degree standard.
LJMU
Two grading schemes are in place. In the 1-3 system, we typically require marks of 2 or above. In the 1-5 system, we typically require marks of 2.5 or above.
