May Baker

Nursing and Allied Health

I am an experienced senior lecturer in mental health and have been in higher education for the past 17 years. I have 31 years’ nursing experience gaining extensive skills, working and managing many facets of mental health. Whilst a strong mental health advocate and supporter of de-stigmatising addictions, my other interests are dual diagnosis and motivational interviewing. I encourage and involve students to voice their ideas and experiences, enhancing the student/teacher relationship and supporting their learning whilst at university.
I have developed and delivered many programmes and modules to higher education institutions in the UK and overseas and currently lead on the MA Mental Health within the School of Nursing and Allied Health
