About campus tours

How does a campus tour work?

Our campus tours allow you and up to two guests to explore our superb campus facilities and see first-hand what LJMU has to offer.

You will get the chance to take a tour of either our City Campus or Mount Pleasant Campus.

Your tour will be led by a student tour guide who can answer any questions you may have about the university and student life.

The tour itself will not be course-specific, but it will provide an excellent overview of our general campus facilities.

Please be aware that a number of other applicants and guests will also be in your tour group so please wear a face covering when indoors (unless exempt) to protect yourself and other members of the tour group.

What dates and times are available?

We offer campus tours on Wednesday afternoons. Visit our campus tours page to book a tour on the date that is most convenient for you.

Where will the tours take place?

You will have the opportunity to take a tour of our City Campus or Mount Pleasant Campus.

The meeting point for City Campus is the James Parsons Building and the meeting point for the Mount Pleasant Campus is the Student Life Building.

We will email you ahead of the event to confirm the date and time of your campus tour, and also your meeting point.

How long does a campus tour take?

Please arrive for your tour at 12:45. You will have some time initially to sit down with a tea or a coffee and have a chat with your student tour guide and staff. The tour itself is then expected to last 1-1.5 hours so we would suggest allowing plenty of time when planning your return journey home.

Can I see course-specific facilities?

The campus tour won’t be course-specific, but it will provide an excellent overview of our general campus facilities.

To discover more about course-specific facilities, please see our virtual tours or visit LJMU On Demand.

Can I view the accommodation?

You will have the opportunity to view an example of one of our halls as part of the tour. While it unfortunately won't be possible to tour our other halls on the day, we have 360 degree views of most of our halls on our accommodation page.

Take a look at our accommodation brochure for information on the halls that we have an offer.

Can I visit the library?

Yes, a short tour of the general library facilities is included in your campus tour.

Your tour group

Will there be other applicants in my tour group?

There will be a number of other applicants (plus their guests) in your tour group. Please therefore wear a face covering (unless exempt) to protect yourself and other members of the tour group.

Will the tour be led by a student studying the same course as me?

The student tour guide will be a current LJMU student. They may not be studying the same course as you, but they will have good general knowledge of the university and student life.

You can find further course-specific information, academic presentations and the contact details of your faculty admissions team on LJMU On Demand.
