Faculty of Education, Health and Community

Meeting the demands of health, education and the community

As a multi-site and multi-discipline faculty, we are working collaboratively, particularly across health, sport and education.

The Faculty is home to over 5,000 students and are committed to providing an intellectually stimulating environment to ensure our graduates are prepared as global citizens of the 21st Century who meet and exceed employers’ expectations. Students within the Faculty receive a cutting-edge educational experience informed by our research, scholarship and real-world experience. All of our courses offer placement opportunities. We work closely with a wide range of both public and private sector organisations to ensure our students have the knowledge, skills and experience to meet the demands of the increasingly challenging health, education and community sectors.

Our research

We are recognised for our contributions to research both nationally and internationally.

In the recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 (the system that assesses the quality of research in UK higher education institutions), we ranked in the top half of institutions in the UK with units of assessment submitted for health and education as well as communication and media.
