Ellie McCoy is a Research and Project Manager at the Public Health Institute and has fifteen years research experience. Ellie has experience of conducting original research, service evaluations and systematic reviews. Ellie's research interests include health and wellbeing, health inequalities, community health, drugs and alcohol use and treatment, ACES and domestic abuse. Ellie has experience of qualitative and quantitative methods and has conducted research with a range of groups including children and young people, substance users, offenders, prisoners, homeless people, victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence and practitioners and stakeholders. Ellie has also worked for the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System team and as a Researcher at PHI, and before joining PHI, she worked as a specialist substance misuse worker. Ellie is the Health and Safety Officer at PHI and is the lead for PHI researcher safety training. She is also a member of the LJMU Research Ethics Committee. Ellie is the co-module leader for the MSc Public Health Work Related Learning module, she also supervises Public Health MSc students and is currently providing supervision for an MPhil student. Ellie has a BSc in Applied Psychology (2005) and an MSc in Drug Use and Addiction (2007) both from Liverpool John Moores University.
