My PhD research is investigating sexualised drug use among LGBT people. This is divided into two research projects: an online quantitative questionnaire; and qualitative interviews. It is hoped that this research will provide reasons as to why people engage in certain sexualised drug use, how it impacts on physical and mental well-being, and whether the public health issue is observed in all LGBT people, or mostly in men who have sex with men (MSM).
Before starting my PhD, I worked for Public Health England in the HIV/STI department, working on HIV epidemiology. Because of my background in health psychology, I will be training to become a Health Psychologist alongside my PhD.
