  • Creating motivationally intelligent classrooms
  • The role of academic emotions in learning and achievement
  • Supporting learners’ emotional development (as a precursor to self-regulation of learning?)
  • Gender and socio-economic deprivation barriers to educational participation (or Supporting under-represented groups to participate in education?)
  • Well-being and mental health in education
  • Test/exam anxiety assessment and intervention

Members of our group are active in local, national, and international networks. Putwain is Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Educational Psychology, Malone and Wood are Deputy Editors for Education 3-13, Peiser is on the editorial board for the TEAN journal
