Tokyo - work abroad

Work abroad

Gain new skills, make global connections and experience another culture

International work experience, whether in Europe or further afield can really boost your CV and increase your chances in securing that dream job in the future. Working overseas allows you to put your skills and knowledge to the test while increasing your cultural awareness and highlighting your adaptability.

Due to the current situation we are unable to offer traditional on-location opportunities, so for this summer we are launching a brand new scheme: Global Virtual Internships.

LJMU is offering 10 funded internship places with host companies based in China and Vietnam. Each internship will last eight weeks with start date in early July. In addition to the work experience within a sector of your choice, you will gain cultural insight and skills in project and remote working.

Does this sound interesting? Before you apply, we just ask you to bear in mind that these placements are unpaid and will require you to have reliable access to the internet and the self-discipline to work remotely.

Application deadline is 12 May (midnight)

"I got to learn so much about working in a different culture and it was great to sample what it’s like to live in a new country. I learnt lifelong skills whilst making lifelong friends and it was an experience I will never forget. The most amazing opportunity I will forever be grateful for!"
