What is International Women's Day?

International Women's Day (IWD) is on the 8th March, is a globally acknowledge occasion which aims to celebrate the social, political, economic and cultural achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activities, events and movements occur worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.

This year's IWD theme is #ChooseToChallenge you can join the social media campaign by using the hashtags #IWD2021 and #ChooseToChallenge - Show your support by capturing a photo of yourself (simply raise your hand high to show you're in, write a short pledge which aims to call-out inequality and use the hashtags to demonstrate that you are committed to the "choose to challenge" movement). To find out more, please visit the International Women's Day website.
