Physical Literacy Consensus Statement for England

Co-developed by the expert panel

What is it?

An expert panel of researchers and professionals worked together for 12 months to develop a Physical literacy Consensus for England. The consensus statement aimed to provide a shared understanding of what physical literacy is.

Who is it for?

The consensus statement was targeted at professionals and practitioners, and wider system stakeholders. The statement text aimed to be accessible for colleagues in research, policy and practice – whether it be a non-specialist teacher, coach, healthcare professional, community worker or policymaker. The consensus statement also aimed to be applicable across education, sport, health, community, and wider sectors – ‘uniting’ perspectives on physical literacy.
